Dr. Imogen Ashdown, MD, FAAD

I would rather look at every inch of your skin once a year than guess about one spot.

Dr. Imogen Ashdown opened Coquina Dermatology on Corvina Way in 2011, after her dermatology residency and three years in a hospital dermatology clinic.

Most of her day is medical: skin checks, biopsies, small skin surgeries, and keeping psoriasis and eczema under control. She photographs the moles she wants to watch, so each year's check compares the same spot.

On Tuesday evenings she sees cosmetic patients and plans each treatment herself. She will tell you when a treatment does not suit your skin.

Outside the office she swims most mornings, always in a long-sleeved rash guard.

Caio Barros, PA-C

Caio Barros joined Coquina Dermatology in 2019. He is a certified physician assistant and works under Dr. Ashdown's supervision.

He sees many of the practice's acne and rash visits, and he does full skin checks. When a spot needs a second look, Dr. Ashdown sees it the same day she is in the office.

Caio grew up in Pompano Beach in a Brazilian family, and he is glad to hold a whole visit in Portuguese.
