Finding your triggers

Sun, heat, hot drinks, spicy food, alcohol and stress set off flares for many people. We may ask you to keep a short diary between visits, so you can see your own pattern.

Treatment

Treatment can include prescription creams or gels and medicine by mouth. A gentle cleanser and daily sunscreen help too. When visible blood vessels stay, we can talk about laser treatment and refer you.

Rosacea can affect the eyes. Tell us if your eyes often feel gritty, dry or burning, or look red. We may refer you to an eye doctor.

Questions about rosacea

Is rosacea the same as acne?

No. Rosacea can cause bumps that look like acne, but it is a different condition with a different treatment. Some acne products irritate rosacea, so bring what you use.

Is rosacea treatment covered?

Rosacea visits are medical visits, and most plans cover them. Plans often treat laser for redness as cosmetic, so check with your plan first.
